Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor

COLLEGE CONVERSION BENEFITS FROM MARCO CAT 6 TRUNKING

Marco, the UK’s largest manufacturer of Steel Wire Cable Tray, and uPVC Cable Management Company, has supplied over 1000 metres of Cat 6 Trunking, to be used as part of a large-scale refurbishment scheme at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor.

The college for further education, with sites across North West Wales, is refurbishing and upgrading a two-storey building, formerly used as a land-studies department, and transforming it into student accommodation; comprising 34 rooms with en-suite facilities.

The main contractor at the project is ISG and the Mechanical and Electrical contractor is Gwynedd-based, Falconer Electrical, to whom Marco is supplying uPVC Trunking via a distributor.

Marco is quickly becoming the specialist product supplier of choice to M&E contractors working within the education sector and during the past 12 months, both Trunking and Steel Wire Cable Tray systems have been installed at over 100 educational projects.

Paul Diggins, Marco Sales and Marketing Director said: “Our understanding of the building education sector, including changing regulations and achieving necessary compliances, enables us to work closely with our customers and provide the right advice and product range that meets their objectives as well as the end-client.”

MARCO BOOST SALES TEAM AS GROWTH CONTINUE

Marco, the UK’s largest manufacturer of Steel Wire Cable Tray, and uPVC Cable Management Company, has made a further three key appointments to support the company’s continued growth and expansion plans for 2010.

Carl Potts, Simon Kowalski and Paul Mason have joined the national sales team, lead by Marco Sales Director, Paul Diggins. Focusing on the Midlands, Southern and Scottish regions respectively, the three new team members bring a wealth of experience to the company, each with a strong background in electrical installation product sales.

Paul Diggins said: “These three individuals will add significant weight to our external sales team through their various backgrounds and experience. Coupled with the additional resources we have put in place within our internal sales team, the key focus will be on driving the increased specification of Marco products across the regions.”

Marco has enjoyed steady growth following its launch in 2003 and has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to develop its product ranges through expanding its main lines, whilst offering many innovative labour-saving solutions to the electrical installer.

Paul continued: “The Marco brand is becoming a well recognised one by electrical contractors and distributors alike, who appreciate the many benefits associated with our products and are also keen to support us as a UK manufacturer.

“It is important that we continue to deliver on our commitments to our growing customer base, whilst maintaining high levels of Marco product and brand awareness, which our recent appointments will most certainly help us to achieve.”

Harbourside Development

FAST FIX FOR INSTALLERS AT ‘HARBOURSIDE’ DEVELOPMENT

Marco, the UK’s largest manufacturer of Steel Wire Cable Tray, and uPVC Cable Management Company has boosted installation times at a key scheme in Bristol’s prestigious ‘Harbourside’ development through the use of its innovative, Fast Fix Universal Strut Clip.

Electrical contractors, Whitehead Building Services, have installed thousands of metres of Marco’s Steel Wire Cable Tray (of varied widths), utilising the Fast Fix Universal Strut Clip across the installation at a new office scheme in the commercial district of the development.

Steve Davis, Business Development Manager at Marco Cable Management said: “Rather than use the traditional method of nut, bolt plate and zebedee, which is fiddly and labour intensive, the Fast Fix Universal Strut Clip can be fastened and secured within seconds. A simple, strong and effective solution, the use of the new Marco Strut Clip can reduce time spent on site significantly.”

Hywel Morton, Project Manager at Whitehead Building Services said: “The Fast Fix Universal Strut Clip is a brilliant innovation that is new to us – it has saved a massive amount of time and sped up the installation process significantly. We will definitely be using this again on future projects.”

A large local finance company will re-locate its office to the new facility, centralising its operation and expanding its growing business. Positioned on Canons Marsh, ‘Harbourside’ is an ongoing development scheme that includes a mix of residential and commercial facilities ranging from apartments, bars and restaurants to leisure facilities and office space.
